purl was a short-lived supergroup based in san diego, california. formed between 1995 and 1996 and only lasting long enough to play 3 shows. primarily consisting of members from various prominent san diego bands such as julia and papillon. 'winter' was recorded on a tascam 4 track tape recorder in late 1996.

materials were compiled, archived, and arranged by eric lancaster around 2011 before eventually getting shared on the internet in late 2022.
